Stephanie B. Laborde
Stephanie Laborde is a Partner, a member of the Firm’s Management Committee, Chairman of the Governmental Relations and Regulatory Affairs Department, and Manager of the firm’s Baton Rouge office.
From 1984 to 1987, Ms. Laborde served as the Commissioner of Administration for the State of Louisiana. This is the highest appointive position in state government, responsible for the operations and finances of state government. She also served as Chief of Staff of the Governor’s Office from 1985 to 1988. She currently serves as the General Counsel for the Louisiana Insurance Guaranty Association and as Conflicts General Counsel for the Louisiana Patient’s Compensation Fund and the State Licensing Board for Contractors. She previously served as Secretary for the Community Hospital Coalition and Family Security Holdings, L.L.C. She is a registered lobbyist, assisting clients with a broad spectrum of legislative activities and practice before many agencies of state government, along with an extensive defense litigation practice.
She received her law degree in 1991. Prior to joining Milling, Ms. Laborde was a Partner and Manager of the Baton Rouge office of Brook, Pizza & van Loon, L.L.P.
Stephanie Laborde is a member of the Baton Rouge and Louisiana State Bar Associations, the Order of the Coif and the Louisiana Law Review.
